      Instead
    of supporting those that do, people in here occasionally seem bent on
    tirading against the operating system in general and not doing
    anything.  That's not what free software is about.

Free software is about action: to replace proprietary software with
free software, and thus spread freedom.

Part of this action is developing software.  For instance, this
overall goal is why I wrote GNU Emacs.  Part of this action is
communicating the message--such as reminding people that using Emacs
on Windows is only halfway to freedom, not the destination.

    While it is fine to enjoy freedom while locked into your house, I
    prefer to have the company of Emacs available even while having to
    roam other work environments.

Unlock your door and look around outside.  Things are not as monotone
out there as you suppose.
