Thank you for your suggestion; it works perfectly.
However, I fail to understand why the behaviour of "find-file"
should be a feature. What benefit do you get from the function
actually doing nothing? I even did not find anything about it
in the manual - in the Info node "Visiting files" there is just
If the file you specify is actually a directory, `C-x C-f' invokes
Dired, the Emacs directory browser, so that you can "edit" the
contents of the directory (*note Dired::).
Would you consider to document this special case in the manual
if the behaviour of "find-file" ought not to be changed?
