Is there a general rule, that package developpers should follow
here, under which circumstances a lisp function should not display
any echo area messages? Is this rule documented somewhere?
We do not have a rule, but perhaps we need to make one. The rule
could be that timers should not display echo area messages.
Or maybe we can arrange for y-or-n-p to put the question back up
after such a timer runs.
