The current XEmacs version of gnuserv.el was rewritten by Jan Vroonhof
and Hrvoje Niksic. Both of them have assigned copyright on past and
future XEmacs work to the FSF.

Either way I'd be happy to work on it. I'd like to start from the
current XEmacs version because it is nice and feature rich...

To make all the features work nicely, can I please have an
XEmacs-style delete-frame-hook, which gets run before delete-frame
deletes the frame? Functions in delete-frame-hook should take a
single argument (the frame).

Thanks...

peace & happiness,
martin
