Hi, I think I found a bug in ange-ftp.

If I open a remote ftp directory, using dired I try to move a file to
a sub-directory, pressing the "R" key on the file, then as a new name
I specify the directory name ".../subdir": this results to an error,
but this is not coherent with the Emacs behavior for local files: on a
local filesystem Emacs will move the file in ".../subdir/file".

(emacs-version)

"GNU Emacs 21.3.50.2 (i686-pc-linux-gnu)
 of 2003-03-13 on marc0host.dyndns.org"

(from the CVS)

Related part of the *Messages* buffer:

Renaming emacs to elisp... [2 times]
Move `/ftp:marc0@www.autistici.org:/emacs' to
`/ftp:marc0@www.autistici.org:/elisp' failed:
(ftp-error Renaming FTP Error: "550 rename: Is a directory"
/ftp:marc0@www.autistici.org:/emacs /ftp:marc0@www.autistici.org:/elisp)

[end of part]

emacs is a file, elisp is a directory.

Thanks
