Cursor vanishes when blink-cursor-mode disabled in highlighted textareas

Hello,

this is quite annoying: If text is clickable by the mouse for some special
action like the article/ group selection selection in gnus. When the mouse
moves over text and its background gets highlighted the cursor
disappears.  Even if the mouse moves further and the text is not highlighted
anymore the cursor still is not displayed again.

To reproduce it:

emacs -q
Evaluate (blink-cursor-mode -1)
M-x list-faces-display
put cursor on somewhere the bold font using mouse-1
Now if you use mouse-2 without really clicking you can make the cursor
isappear
