Boy you guys sure got hectares of terminal space to waste two whole
blanks at the beginning of each line, with no variable to control the
madness.
Err, wait. I forgot about marks. Let's try again.

blank after marks, with no variable to control the madness.
And what about all those blanks for the links column... the user
perhaps could be given a variable to say how many to use. If one day a
file really had loads of links, then a column would look shifted, no
big deal.
I started noticing all this waste when I went back to using 80 column
screens so I know how the 'little guy' feels so I won't make any more
too wide messages.
