If I open the Emacs lisp source files from the links in the *Backtrace* window I get a lot of ^M in the files. If I however open the files with C-x C-f there are no such problems. In GNU Emacs 23.0.60.1 (i386-mingw-nt5.1.2600) of 2008-08-10
I just noticed that if I clone the *Backtrace* buffer and open the links from there the same thing happens. However if I return to top level (q in the original *Backtrace* buffer) then opening via the links in the cloned *Backtrace*<2> buffer works fine.
