bug#10023: 24.0.91; `mark-whole-buffer' doesn't always "mark the whole buffer"

Maybe not.

I still think that the "whole" part is unnecessary and unfortunate.

But well, if you don't think it's worth the trouble, close this bug
report.  I certainly can live with it, and there are many other issues
more important than this one, of course.
