The default shell prompt pattern in Tramp does not recognizes "[]"
templates. You might change it by
(setq tramp-shell-prompt-pattern
"\\(?:^\\|\\)[^#$%>\n]*#?[]#$%>] *\\(\\[[0-9;]*[a-zA-Z] *\\)*"
(Beware the ^M and ^[ characters)
