bug#16497: 24.3.50; `move-to-column' ignores invisible text at the beginning of the line, which create problems when using string-rectangle

Before we design the interface, can we please define what is the job
to be done here?  If it's just to get to Nth character from bol,
aren't there easier ways of doing that?
