Dear Megan,

your setup looks good. I think the link to the application is in

/home/<yourusername>/Applications

so it is added to the local user applications if you want to start the application via finder.

You can also start the gui from the commandline.
The name is „psppire“. „pspp“ is the commandline version. Please make sure that
you have installed an Xserver. You can take one from macports „xorg-server“ or the XQuartz server.

Check here also: http://lists.gnu.org/archive/html/bug-gnu-pspp/2016-05/msg00014.html

if the XServer does not start automagically.

I’ve been having trouble getting the pspp application to install

I have a MacBook Air running OS X 10.11.5.
I installed the command line tools.
I did a clean installation of macports MacPorts 2.3.4
I then did
    port install pspp

The installation proceeded without any errors, or so it appears.
The installation ended with
--->  Fetching archive for pspp

--->  No broken files found.

I can run poppa 0.10.1 from the terminal
but there is no pspp application in the /Applications or ?Applications/MacPorts folder

Is there another step I need to get the GUI?

Thanks
Sean
