Internal error in ldlang.c |

Hi
When I execute the following command on Linux:
gcc -o libotapimd.so -Xlinker -soname -Xlinker /usr/lib/libotapimd.so
-shared -Xlinker --whole-archive libotapi.a -lstdc++
I get the error:
/usr/local/i686-pc-linux-gnu/bin/ld: internal error ldlang.c 3757
collect2: ld returned 1 exit status
The output of "ld --version" is (this is the most recent binutils I could
find):
GNU ld 2.10.1
Copyright 2000 Free Software Foundation, Inc.
This program is free software; you may redistribute it under the terms of
the GNU General Public License. This program has absolutely no warranty.
Supported emulations:
elf_i386
i386linux
The attached tar file contains two files:
doit - which is just the above "gcc" command
libotapi.a - the archive used by the gcc command.
Hope you can help.
Thanks
Steve
