plotutils memory leak with X |

We're attempting to use the plotutils 2.4.1 library (and have tried
2.2 as well) on RedHat Linux 6.1 and 6.2 systems.
When our program plots to X, it runs but has a memory leak in the
application and dies fairly quickly. (We're using double buffering.)
However, if the application plots to a metafile piped to 'plot -T X',
then neither our application nor 'plot' consumes memory (but we lose
the double buffering capability which we really need).
We dropped back to the working version of plotutils we had used on our
project a year or so ago, version 2.1.4. It doesn't show the memory
leak problem.
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks,
Terri Fischer
