Subject: cpio -d bug
$ cpio --version
GNU cpio version 2.4.2
When using cpio with the -d option (and -i or -p) directories are created
with mode 700, without any way of changing the mode.
This appears to be unique to GNU cpio, I believe, as no other UNIX cpio
has this behaviour.
IMHO, mkdir should use mode 777 for directory creation, using umask to
modify as necassary.
Else, provide a way to override the mode (I can't find a way.)
Cheers,
Christian Smith
