This problem has been resolved.    This is not a bug with plotutils.

       Subject:        Problem with plotutils

I am using the libplot package from plotutils version 2.4.1.

I have compiled and used them on both a Sun workstation runing SunOS 5.7 and an SGI indy runing IRIX 6.2.   I have the same problem with both.

I am drawing Xdrawable windows.   All the libplot commands seem to work OK except for text display.    If I run the program on the workstation it is compiled on, then the text strings appear properly.   However, I also connect to the workstations from my PC using exceed.   There, the text strings are not visible.   Also, if I connect to the Sun workstation from the SGI and run the Sun version of the programs, the text strings do not display either.

In the plotutils program there is a demonstration program (h-demo) to demonstrate text in a meta-file format.   Piping the output of that to plot -T X works just fine, even when I run it from the PC.
