tested on Windows 2000 server SP3 and windows 2000 professional

It completed about 10-20% of the job....
Command used;
sed -e "s:'::g" 594back.dat > 594.dat

Results;
runtime error R6017
- unexpected multithread lock error


Low virtual resources message on the 2000 professional machine

The records converted were perfect!

It took 6 seconds for my favorite editor to do it, but requires a human &
the save operation to complete.
(I was surprised how fast)
8,604,602 changes, 64,212 lines.
