Ah - sorry. There was no core dump generated, because there was
a 'ulimit -Sc 0' set in /etc/profile. I changed this to
'umlimit -Sc unlimited'.
For the next try I used the --verbose option instead of the
--checkpoint option. And archivating 40GB of data finished successful,
then. I mean, no crash happened.
So think, the crash must have to do something with the --checkpoint
option...
