bug-gnu-utils and spam

As you may have noticed, bug-gnu-utils gets a lot of spam. I intend to
change the mailman list options so that mail from unknown recipients is
held for review instead of accepted by default. (I have no particular
authority, but I am tired of the spam and so would like to do something
about it.)

I am already doing this (with colleagues) for many lists on tug.org, and
it works well. The only downside we've seen is a slight delay in
posting, but no one has complained about this.

The main reason I'm writing here is that I'd like to ask for another
volunteer or two, familiar with mailman, who would be willing to back me
up handling the requests, for the occasional days that I am away from
email. I'd thought I'd ask this list first, since we are the ones who
will most directly benefit :).

Please write me directly if you would be able to do this with me.

Thanks,
karl (long-time GNU volunteer, Texinfo maintainer)
