3.0.3 is way old!

I suggest that you install the latest gawk from www.cygwin.com.
Gawk version 3.1.4 was released on Sunday, and cygwin has it.

The most convenient way of install iis to use their setup.exe, but in fact
you only need the gawk.exe binary and one DLL to run their gawk.
