Hello,

I'm not able to answer the bug report, but I'd like to make it more clear.
Removing the references to Intltool-specific features, we get:

This contradicts the documentation which says (in the paragraph describing
--from-code):
        "Note that Python, Tcl, and Glade input files are always assumed
        to be in UTF-8, [...]"

And now we have to wait for Bruno. ;-)
