IIRC it did for GNU/Linux -> MinGW/MSYS (Debian package mingw32) some
months ago, at least I had a build tree for that lying around here.
It doesn't now, for what I presume due to issues with the upgraded
gnulib sources.  Will try to eventually debug and report back.

Well, simulators (like wine) are not hard to come by these days.
And just because it's cross compilation doesn't necessarily mean
the products can't be executed (32 -> 64 bit for example).
