Hello!
Although many referneces in the net quote grep to know for tab matching it
seems it doesn't. Nor does it match a tab with [:blank:] or [:space:]. Is
there a reason for that? All other programmes using regexp understand . This
matter should be mentioned in the man page if not introduced to newer grep.
As diff -I uses grep regexp same applies for it! It took me hours to figure
this out!
