Huh? You lost me now. Why do you want to rebuild gettext, when you got an
error in gsasl about a missing gl_INIT macro??

gsasl and gettext use different subsets of gnulib, therefore a gettext with
updated gnulib files will not help you in compilig gsasl.

The gl_INIT macro is automatically generated by gnulib-tool and stored in a
file called gnulib-comp.m4. The gl_INIT for gettext and the one for gsasl are
very different.
