That's quite an improvement. I think I have to try gcc 3.1 on windows
builds as well. Currently gcc 3.1 only excicts in source -- so I first
have to compile the compiler -- but I guess that will work fine..?

I'll report here if I succeed.

BTW: Have anyone tried compiling with another compiler on any system? 
Borland? Intel? ... or maybe even MSVC?
