[Bug-gnubg] (gnubg-020913) No sound: either Assertion or Open failed

Hi,

is there a FAQ regarding gnubg's sound support? I can't get it to work
(SuSE 7.1)

Depending on ESP ar ARTSC I'll get either error:

sound.c:487: play_file: Assertion `0' failed.

- or -

Audio File Library: error 3: Unix open failed

"esdplay /usr/local/share/gnubg/roll.wav" plays the sound file.

What are the requirements and how do I test for them?

"cat /dev/sndstat" (empty settings deleted) tells me:
