[Bug-gnubg] Build requirements & instructions

I'm trying to build gnubg on my Linux server but it fails with various
errors as I progress through the list of software I seem to be
needing.  went through the list archives yesterday to look for clues
but could not find any specific info as to what software is required
to build gnubg (except for the ones that make the build fail with an
appropriate error message (e.g. autoconf-1.6)) nor if there's any
specific commands that should be run before/after the build.

I've got the CVS version and am trying to build it on my server
(RH6.2, kernel 2.4.19, autconf-1.6, makeinfo 4.2 & pkg-config 1.3
installed).  currently it fails with:
