Would a bitmap suffice?

How about this:
In the home board centered a flag, to the left 'OK' or a check mark
image or thumbs up, to the right 'NO' or thumbs down. (or vice versa)

The same way could be used for cube decisions. Instead of the flag the
cube in the middle as it is right now.

It's not much different from the current behaviour with the icons on
the taskbar. As already mentioned in this thread, items for getting a
user response don't really belong there. Usually this is done with a
dialogue box, which is neither optimal here.
But the general idea is: Present a question and _two_ options to
respond. And those preferably together in a strategic place like the
board.
