Subject: [Bug-gnubg] A question - Which die is still available during a move? - and a request

Hi,

I'm trying to write a feature that helps users new to backgammon by
indicating the possible target points for a move.

What I still need to know is whether there has been moved already a chequer
and with which die. Are there any variables (or functions) that hold
information about which die/dice were already used and which are still available
during a move? It should be accessible from within board_pointer() in
gtkboard.c.
I hope that some information about this is already kept, else I'd need to
add some bookkeeping logic.

Also, I have a rather big request. I've noticed that a major part of the
code doesn't have virtually any comments. This has made it quite a bit harder
(for me) to follow the sources and at the very least doesn't really help to
attract new programmers to join the project. IMHO, especially for an open source
project well commented code is indispensable. So I'd like to encourage those
responsible for the lack of comments to write a few extra lines in the
future and maybe a descriptive summary for every existent function, too. At
least
I would appreciate it.

Regards,

        Holger
