Also write new posts instead of replying to old posts and changing the
subject. This will ensure correct threading.

Yes, full ACK. At home I use Forté Agent which has threading, and it's incredible annoying to find a new post (and subsequently all replies thereto) in a thread from 5 months ago.

Maybe allow small attachments (say less than 10kb), and suggest to post
larger attachments on a web page if possible.

I also think this is reasonable.
