But don't add the .sgf to the logfile name, it will be added automatcially.

Yep - it was done for Michel Depreli who wanted to be able to
investigate how gnubg actually played the rollouts. I didn't think
many people would want to do this, so I didn't think it belonged in
the GUI, particularly as it has the potential to build a massive
directory of files in a very short time. Many systems don't behave
well with big directories (the voice of someone who has dealt with
Usenet servers and who still deals with large scale mail servers - you
don't want to have directories with thousands of files in them, you
can bring a Solaris system to its knees that way).
