I have a local modification where I've removed the use of caching. This
fixed the problem with increased memory usage. Unfortunately our CVS
repository is offline due to a security incident, and it probably be a
while before it's reestablished.

I'll consider sending patches to Nardy so we can keep the builds
up-to-date with any fixes.
