Generating these large databases is very time consuming. It can be
improved if you know how to tweak the makebearoff options, and I can't
remember how to do that optimally.
I've never succeeded in generating the two sided database, so I
downloaded it from here:
ftp://ftp.demon.nl/pub/games/gnubg/databases/ts
The direct link to the file is

I think it was Morten Wang who managed the feat, so respect to the man!
