When I select "Switch to 3D view" from the View menu the 2D view is still shown. In addition in the area between the bottom of the board and the data area (where the dice can be selected to show below the board) there is displayed many thin image strips which look like what you would get if you took a picture of the 2D board and put it through a document shredder.

This is the 3d board drawing failing.
