I am using a copy of gnubg which I compiled from the CVS sources as of March 23rd, 09:25 GMT. I am using a Macintosh running MacOSX 10.4.11. When I first started gnubg it opened into a frozen state with an almost blank white screen with only the outlines of the game record, message, command, and theory panels. I discovered that the "set gui dicearea on" line in my gnubgautorc file was the culprit. Commenting out that line or setting it to "off" allowed gnubg to start up normally. If I attempt to enable the feature by typing the command "set gui dicearea on" into the command box, the program freezes and this is what the screen looks like:
http://www.imagebam.com/image/57e56430827630 It appears that the board moves up to make room for the dice, but the old image of the board remains. This problem does not occur in a copy of the program I have been using that I had compiled from the CVS sources of February 14th.
