Sorry, I forgot to answer your actual questions. Correct you don’t want to define GLIB_THREADS. A check for GLIB_THREADS was removed around the call to g_thread_init and that was all. Now of course since we call g_init_thread we do need to link against gthread. So you are correct.
If I'm not wrong, some things were broken with gthreads on windows (like calibrate speed function).
By the way, I found my answer: to build with wni threads I need GLIB_THREADS not defined but I do need
to link against -lgthread-2.0.
