GNUbg expert level (0 ply) certainly plays at World Class level if that 
means a PR of 3 or less.

On the other hand it makes some recognizable rather dumb mistakes. For 
instance when bearing off against opposition it doesn't have any notion of 
staying even on the rear point and occasionally makes plays that leave 
many more blotting numbers that necessary. 2ply doesn't make these errors 
since, with the benefit of lookahead, it can see the blots.

But even with these kind of flaws, 0ply is already very strong.
