I don't think it is. Have you ever worked on a machine where your home
directory is /home/k/ka/karl, and your project upload in
/home/ftp/t/te/texinfo? I hate it. I causes extra typing and has no benefit
(other than to allow using filesystems that are slow when it comes to large
directories).
Better than to make subdirectories just for the subdirectories' sake, is
to keep everything in one directory. I was proposing to create subdirectories
in exchange for some significant benefit.
