I wouldn't want to deprecate it, because
- It's working fine (better than the 'poll' module which fails its tests
on various systems: Solaris [1], Cygwin [2], mingw [3]).
- It is by no way deprecated in POSIX [4].
- It is used by the 'nanosleep' module.
