I've finally found some time to look at this.   I built it and it works fine.
 
Since we are on the subject of the Windows backend the consistent annoyances on this are:
1) The image resizing issue and
2) The window managment issue.   It seems as though the windows backend doesn't bring forward all of the windows belonging to an application when it's clicked on in the windows toolbar (on the bottom of the screen).
