Follow-up Comment #2, bug #23740 (project gnustep):

This is a integer number with just 7 of the upper bits set.

I don't see where this number should be comming from. The code in path.m
looks correct to me. Do you get any warnings from it? Theonly difference I see
here to other NSBezier code is that the default case is not just ignored. It
could be that other backends have the same issue, but just don't report it.

Most likely this is a compiler problem, but to make sure, could you please
report any warings you get from compiling gui and back? 
You could also add an NSLog statement in the cairo backend in the default
case of CairoGState _setPath:, the code there looks rather more fragile for
the 64bit architecture.
