build problems |

Dear list and giuseppe,
it is evident that I am missing something here and I apologize for that,
but I have spent some days now without success and may be someone on the
list will spot out immediately what I am doing wrong.
Trying to build icecat-3 on a GNU-Linux box.
Already built and happily used 2.0.0.12-g1 and 2.0.0.13-g1.
After tuning configure options (in particular --with-branding and
--disable-official-branding) according to the reports on the mail list,
I can build without errors.
But then, at run time, I get:
Cannot find mozilla runtime directory. Exiting.
This is known
(http://lists.gnu.org/archive/html/bug-gnuzilla/2008-07/msg00030.html)
and apparently solved by the very latest upload from giuseppe.
However, building the latest tarball available from
http://gnuzilla.gnu.org/download, does not solve the problem for me
(while it apparently works for Nigel Rumens,
http://lists.gnu.org/archive/html/bug-gnuzilla/2008-07/msg00050.html).
>From this I deduce that I am doing some gross mistake somewhere.
In http://lists.gnu.org/archive/html/bug-gnuzilla/2008-07/msg00031.html
giuseppe quotes the md5 checksum of the tarball:
ad5608497375512f81fbb77eca859c23 icecat-3-g1.tar.bz2
which is different from what I get with md5sum:
host> wget http://gnuzilla.gnu.org/download/icecat-3-g1.tar.bz2
host> md5sum icecat-3-g1.tar.bz2
ef1a7dea4320dffe3b7f0a09fc5c737b icecat-3-g1.tar.bz2
So: am I using the wrong tarball or am I misusing the md5sum command?
I thank you very much in advance for any feedback
After the md5 checksum issue is clarified, I can send details about
the configure options I use for the build, if that can be of any use.
A second minor question: did the icecat logo disappear form icecat-3?
thanks for icecat and ciao
gabriele
