Hello,
It might be a nice to have an option to return the column number of the
line that first matchs the regexp from grep. I know this can be done with
other commands but seems to be very closly related to returning the line
number (I saw the request on google) . My motivation is the same as the
original posters there, to have emacs more easily jump to matches. Just my
2cents. I don't mean to offend anyone.
