grep-2.8 dumps a core when given this pattern:
$ grep -Eq '(^| )*( |$)'
This is a build from source on linuxfromscratch, and was configured with the
following options:
CC='gcc -m64' CXX='g++ -m64' ./configure --prefix=/usr --bindir=/bin
Please let me know if you need any more details.
