Details:

Makefile variables can contain characters that need to be escaped when
interpolated in man page text.  The most notable case is that of hyphen-minus
characters in file specifications.

For instance, ".../site-tmac/..." needs to be ".../site\-tmac/..." in man page
text.

I have a patch for this.
