the regex in the grub-install script doesn't currently support the
device. so the first change needs to be there. once thats done. (patch
attached) you then need to see what grub gets up to.

can you also try doing the install from the grub shell rather than using
grub-install.

then we can figure out where to go from there. some debugging may be in
order which is probably over my head.

can someone apply the patch to cvs, thanks.
