Yes let me clarify. I am talking about the interactive Grub loader that
allows you to chose your OS. After my one boot into Win2K it no longer
comes up to the selection menu. Now all I get is the grub> command prompt.
I get no selection at all. I have no clue what to do. So I have turned to
the mailing list for assistance. Thank you in advance...

Which ``GUI'' means grub's menu or splash image that has
been implemented by Red Hat Inc. ?
The former depends on /boot/grub/menu.lst, which is symbolic
link to grub.conf in Red Hat Linux. And the later depends on
/boot/grub/splash.xpm.gz.
