objcopy

Hi --

I'm trying to compile grub 0.92 under Slackware 8.1.  When I
do 'configure' I get an error stating that GRUB requires a
working absolute objcopy and that I should upgrade my binutils.
Since 8.1 is the very latest Slackware release, I find it hard
to believe that I really need to update my binutils (and I'm
not sure what I would update it to).  Anyway, is there possibly
something else that needs to be done to get around this hurdle?a
