[grub #26] color option in grub.conf not working

Message:
Specifying color for GRUB menu doesn't work. Even when made as an menu item the 
color doesn't work and remains white letters on a splash screen with black 
background for selected item. If color command is executed from menu, the black 
background remains even after leaving the item and so all items may go to black 
background and then you can't distinguish which one is active at the moment.
