I see. I'm sorry, but I can't accept the patch.

There is a history about the patch. I think you don't know it, I explain.

Originally, I asked Thierry to rewrite the stage1, because it has a copyright
problem as well as fsys_ext2fs.c (i.e. we can't reach the copyright holder).
Then, he did amazing work. He didn't only write new stage1, but also add
support for CDROM booting.

What he made was great beyond my expectation, but his patch was too big and
had a lot of mysterious code which I don't think is maintainable. So I
attempted to clean up his patch, but I couldn't do that, because my time was
not enough.

Then, I asked Thierry to clean up his patch himself, and he didn't do that. He
insisted on incorporating the patch as it was. I gave up.

Some months passed by, and I retried to clean up his patch. Again, I couldn't
finish, because of time shortage. This time, I decided to integrate the patch
as it was, as he said that it would be better for him to maintain.

After that, he told me that he didn't have time (or will?) to work on GRUB any
longer. So I didn't apply the patch. The patch is unable to be maintained
without his help.

Well, now the patch is adapted to a later version. It's a good thing. But I
don't think the patch has been cleaned up. As his patch changes core parts of
GRUB and too unreadable, I can't accept, regardless of how many people use
it.

I would be happy, if you or someone else could clean up the patch. It is not
easy, because the patch changes many things.
